Today we learned about the importance of dialogue. Dialogue, from even the smallest info, can be extremely instructional. From just “dad, its dark out and I want dinner!” we can depict that the character speaking is hungry and possibly tired or bored, because “its dark out” said that it is late, and that the character could simply be hungry. It can also teach the reader about characters, see how the characters get along, help the story plot unfold, show the mood of the story, add drama or conflict and help show time or setting! Dialogue is also important because if the characters never spoke, we might not know who they are, or what they sounded like and such.
